SENIORS

The build-up for the game against Tooradin game had a finals atmosphere about it. The first quarter was intense with the lead changing multiple times which saw us in front at the first break. The second quarter was very similar to the first and we began to run and carry the ball and gave our forwards every chance to score. Third quarter was disappointing. We allowed the opposition to gain momentum and we couldn’t respond to them kicking 4 goals in a row. The last quarter we started to take more risks and gave us every opportunity to win the game. Unfortunately we kicked two goals four behinds to two goals. Better players on the day. Nathan Gardiner was outstanding with 7 goals, Jaxson and Heath Briggs worked hard all day as did Chris Johnson. Lachy Peluso had the better of his opponent. We must move on quickly from this loss and focus on the areas we need to improve to play more consistent four quarters of footy.

RESERVES

In a disappointing day for our Reserves the momentum that we had built up over the last couple of weeks evaporated pretty quickly under the unrelenting pressure of the top team. Our smaller, quicker side could not find the space to find their “run” and as such were shut down very effectively by a strong unit. It was great to see Luke Foreman come back to some of his best form and as he gets used to the match day pressure he will continue to show the way. Tom Stiglitch tried hard all day and was in and under the packs, Josh McKenzie, Dylan Ross and Lyndon Banting all contributed but we were outclassed.

FOURTHS

Unfortunately the game had to be abandoned early because of a serious injury to Tom Kervin, one of our defenders. We wish him and his family all the best in his recovery
